In the weeks surrounding St. Patrick’s Day they are of course many parades, parties, festivals, etc. In 14 years of being cognizant of the fact that the Italians march and parade on St. Paddy’s Day, I’ve never figured out why. I’ll Google it one day. Not today.
They throw cabbages from the parade floats and the place eventually stinks to high heaven of rotting cabbage until they are pulled from the bushes and curbs that line the parade route.
These pictures were taken on Wednesday, the 17th, but the parade was on Saturday, the 13th.
Ah, the Italians celebrate St. Joseph’s Day, the 19th.
