On St. Paddy’s day, the parade floats throw cabbages, real, fake and imagined.

It’s just like Mardi Gras, and creates just as big of a mess, and like Mardi Gras, it’s all miraculously cleaned up by the next day.

Well, almost all of it.  There is always a festering cabbage or two hiding in one of the bushes, just waiting to wreck to day of someone or some business owner when they have to remove it, slimy and infested in the late March warmth.

The Italians decided that they need parades at the same time because St. Joseph’s day is so close.
No word yet as to if they throw pepperoni rolls.
